Yesterday morning found Landon & I at the pediatrician's office. An awful cough hit Landon hard.......the result......STREP THROAT & CROUP!! Ugh! We were so close to making it through a whole month "sick free"!! Ok, so we'll try this again in February!! And we'll keep our fingers crossed that he at least remains "sick free" until after his 2nd birthday (Feb. 11th)!! If you recall, he wasn't so lucky for his 1st birthday:( Although we got some not-so-good news.......there has to be some GOOD for every not-so-good, right??!! Well my friends, Landon has officially joined the 20+ pound club!! That's right, he weighed in at 20lbs. 11oz!! AND......he did it exactly 2 weeks BEFORE his 2nd birthday!! YEAH!!! BUT......(yes, there is always a BUT in there).....his pediatrician feels that it is best if he remains rear-facing until he gains a few more pounds......ha!......so we are hoping he will face forward by the time he is 3!!! lol Oh well, we are one step closer!!
A few posts ago, I mentioned how Landon has been sporadically taking some independent steps. It always happens so quickly and it has not been easy trying to catch it on film. BUT, (see, there's always a BUT), I have been determined to catch his first steps so that I could share it with everyone. I don't have to tell any of you just how hard Landon has been working to achieve this milestone.......MOST of you already know this. But I know that ALL of you can appreciate his hard work and know what a BIG moment this is for Landon AND for us!! What better way than to share & celebrate this moment than with our closest family & friends!!
Landon DID IT!! He just might be running around the backyard with his brothers this spring!!!
How sweet!! and so pleased with himself, clapping when hes done :) Good job Landon
ReplyDeleteWay to go Landon! Such a determined boy!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! How exciting! Great job Landon! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh, I teared up watching this on facebook! Its just so exciting!!
ReplyDeleteYAY LANDON!!
ReplyDeleteI think Kaia just barely beat him in entering the 20lb club. All of my kids were between 18mths and 2 before they hit 20lbs....Kaia was 22 months. I kept her rear-facing for awhile after though because I wanted her to be a little stronger. Seeing her now you'd never know she was so petite as a baby. She's playing catch up in a big way and at 6 years old is the size of a typical 6-year old!
I just watched this on facebook and just had to watch it again! Great job Landon!! I love how he claps for himself afterward. Now just don't do what Ella did Landon....she did these first few steps which I caught on video and then waited another 3 months to try it again!! Little stinker!!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Landon!!!I just knew you were going to walk before your birthday!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the strep...no fun.Hoping the germs find themselves gone from the house soo.
Miss Zoey will be 4 in March. She is just short of 25 pounds. It took her forever to get to that 20 pound mark!
How lovely! Now you're in for it!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo, Landon!!!
ReplyDeleteThe first steps are the hardest - you will be running in no time =)
Praying that everyone in your house has a very healthy February!!
Yeah for 20lbs and those FIRST steps! How exciting!!! Mama, you'd better to be ready to keep up. You'll be chasing him in no time!
ReplyDeleteOh Landon!!Good job sweetie!!! Now when you meet you can chase after her!!!I love how he claps for himself. And soon as spring hits we are setting up a date!!! Landon must be around the same size as Em. She was celebrating 20 pounds at two too! Although she's been eating like a truck driver lately. Must be a growth spurt.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Landon!!!!!! Those are great videos!
ReplyDeleteGo, Landon Go!!!! I love how excited he gets and claps for himself...AWESOME job Landon we are so proud of you!!! You'll be chasing your brothers around in no time!
ReplyDeleteYipee! Go Landon! He will be running around this summer for sure. Great timing on that! Jax is 5 and still rear facing. I think he'll be rear facing forever! I would love to turn Arina around, she hates being in the car and I think she would enjoy seeing. But she is only 15 lbs, and not gaining fast!
ReplyDeleteWow he is doing so great. Yeah the 20 pound mark is great. We have been at 21/22 for a while but I do remember when we hit 20.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you and proud that Landon is walking or taking his first steps. We are still struggling in that area. Any tips you care to share? :)
